Highlights:

Cairo: Egyptian Museum, Museum of Islamic Art, Al-Azhar Mosque, Khan al Khalili market, Citadel Ibn Tulun, Gayer Anderson museum, Coptic Cairo with Christian monasteries and churches, Cairo Tower, Birqash Camel Market,Giza, the Great Pyramids (UNESCO). Aswan: Museum, Old Cataract Hotel, take a Felucca on the Nile, visit the Aswan Botanical garden, Nubian Museum, Stroll through Elephantine island. Luxor: Mummification Museum, Karnak temples (Ancient Thebes UNESCO), Luxor Museum, Valley of the Kings and Queens (Nefertiti tomb and the Golden Coffin of Tutankhamun as the highlight), Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Dahab: relaxed dive site on the Red Sea (Blue Hole), less mass tourism than elsewhere. Alexandria: Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Fort Qaitbey and the Corniche, El Alamein War Cemetery. Abu Mena monastery complex (UNESCO). Wadi El Hitan (UNESCO): Valley of Whales (can be organized from Cairo, day trip).Saqqara: Necrepolis and Zoser's Step Pyramid, the largest stone structure ever built and in the same time the world's oldest pyramid.
