Highlights:
Antigua (UNESCO) well preserved Spanish colonial buildings with La Merced Church. Quirigua (UNESCO),deep in the Peten jungle lies Tikal National Park (UNESCO), with its impressive Maya ruins, Lake Atitlan (great scenery) with speedboat to San Pedro La Laguna that lies on the foot of the Volcan San Pedro, a 5 hours climb. Chichicastenango, famous for its colorful market and the Santo Tomas church where I lit a candle! Quetzaltenango, the country's second city, has the Central Park with the cathedral and behind are some narrow streets (Cafe La Luna) and and historical buildings. Quirigua archaeological site (UNESCO)
