Managua Plaza de la Revolution, Antigua Cathedral, Puerto Salvador Allende (bars and restaurants on the lake) Granada's Plaza de Independencia with the Cathedral, Church of La Merced, Convent of San Francisco. Boat tour to the 360 tiny isles of Las Isletas or the volcanic Isla de Ometepe, both in Lake Nicaragua. Leon has a colonial charm and the finest churches in Nicaragua, and Basilica de la Asuncion is the largest Cathedral in Central America UNESCO. Leon Viejo ruins UNESCO near Puerto Momotombo. Esteli's Sandanista legion and the tobacco factories. Active Volcan Masaya, especially impressive in the darkness of the night. Corn Island (Long Bay, Southwest Bay) and little Corn (Islas de Maiz) has fantastic beaches, but they are hard to reach unless you opt for an expensive la Costeña flights via Bluefields Costa Caribe (stopover possible). There are regular small boats operating between the 2 Corn islands. Alternatively, there is remote Miskito and Pearl Cays, paradise on earth.
