Lake District National Park UNESCO with England's deepest lake, Wast Water, of glacial origin, surrounded by mountains with great views to England's highest mountain range. The Giant's Causeway UNESCO is Northern Ireland's biggest tourist attraction, and the result of volcanic activities resulting in thousands of basalt columns, at the core of the sight they look precisely like a giant causeway stepping out of the Sea! The group of Neolithic monuments on the Orkney Islands UNESCO with impressive Stone circles (Ring of Brodgar), Skara Brae, the ruins of a Neolitic village at a very scenic location near the sea, plus Maeshowe burial mound. Shetland Islands Jarlshof prehistoric Norse settlement, St. Ninian's Isle with a scenic sand bar beach, see the shimmering celestial phenomenon of the Northern Lights, a climb to Ronas Hill (450m, highest point on the islands) or many more trekking oppourtunities like around Eshaness lighthouse, or Gloup Voe on the North Isles.
